What’s new in version 10.0.41


projects360 10.0.41 for Project Operations introduces a set of new features such as New xl360 view ‘Actuals by tasks and Bookable Resources’, Multi-language capabilities in xl360 templates, Ability to partially copy specific tasks from the Fee Estimator to projects, Advanced copy process for Fee Estimate versions. This release also includes enhancements to existing features such as WBS Planner, Effort Allocation and Fee Management.


New Features


New xl360 view ‘Actuals by tasks and bookable resources’

The new xl360 view enables users to see task data in relation to Bookable Resources, providing insights into the variance between estimated and actual costs and efforts for these resources.

  • Users can access this feature through the WBS planner and Effort Allocation contextual menu. By selecting the “Task Actuals” option, they are redirected to a new xl360 view.
  • When a Bookable Resource works on a task as scheduled in the WBS planner, the new XL360 view provides a direct comparison by displaying planned vs. actual costs and efforts, along with remaining and EAC data, all in a single line for easy reference.
  • If the Bookable Resource is not planned in WBS, then the new xl360 view will show only the actual cost and effort, while the planned cost and effort will be zero.

Multi-language capabilities in xl360 templates

We have introduced new multi-language capabilities in xl360 templates, allowing users from different locations to access these templates in their preferred languages.

  • Currently, we support 7 languages: English, Italian, German, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Japanese.
  • To configure the user’s languages in CE, users can go to Settings -> Personalization Settings -> Languages -> User Interface Language.

Ability to partially copy specific tasks from the Fee Estimator to Projects

The ability to partially copy specific tasks from the fee estimator to projects allows users to select only the tasks they need rather than copying the entire project structure.

  • Users can choose individual tasks or a subset of tasks from the fee estimator that are relevant to their project. This helps in avoiding unnecessary duplication of tasks that may not be applicable.
  • The Advanced Copy feature lets users build a new task structure from multiple estimate versions in the fee estimator. Users can simply drag and drop tasks from the source to the target area, ensuring all related labor items, hours, and expenses are copied to the WBS.
  • The Advanced Copy functionality allows users to copy tasks from the fee estimate to the WBS even after the project has been released to F&O.

Additional configuration options for copying Fee Estimate versions

The additional configuration options for copying fee estimate versions allow users to tailor the copying process to meet their specific needs.

  • Users can choose which specific data elements they want to transfer from the original estimate version to the new one, such as labor items, expenses, or hours. This ensures that only relevant information is copied.
  • Users can configure various parameters that control the copying process. Each parameter is dependent on the others. For example, the “Copy Labor Items Efforts” parameter will not copy data unless both the “Copy Labor Items” and “Copy Task Structure” parameters are selected.

Ability to assign multiple roles for the same bookable resource in Fee Estimator

This feature allows users to assign same Bookable Resource multiple times within a task in the fee estimator. Users can assign the same resource with different roles, and the cost and sales prices will vary based on the assigned role.

Ability to assign multiple roles for the same bookable resource in WBS

This feature enables users to assign the same Bookable Resource with multiple roles within a task in WBS planner.

  • Same Resource assigned with multiple roles in the WBS are also visible in Team Members, Effort Allocation, Resource Assignment, Resource Reconciliation, Estimates, and Bookable Resource Bookings within Project Operations.
  • This facilitates easier cost and sales estimation for the same Bookable Resource with multiple roles in Resource and Hour forecasts in Finance and Operations.

Refactored WBS Planner and Fee Estimator xl360 spreadsheets

We have improved the functionality and user experience of the WBS Planner and Fee Estimator xl360 spreadsheets.

  • We are now offering the ability to extend xl360 templates, allowing you to customize and enhance them according to your specific requirements. This flexibility empowers you to build upon the existing templates.
  • We have enhanced the performance and efficiency of the existing functionalities within the xl360 templates by optimizing the underlying code.

WBS calculation of cost and sales amounts of resources based on the varying Prices over time

The sales and cost prices of roles/resources in WBS vary dynamically based on values integrated from contract price lists, which defines role prices over different time periods. Depending on the task’s start and end dates, the resource will automatically apply the price effective during that time. This ensures WBS provides accurate cost and sales calculations based on real-time prices, offering better financial insights.

  • The WBS ensures that the prices applied to each task align with the active pricing during the task’s execution.
  • The WBS updates cost and sales calculations in real-time based on the latest pricing. Users can get the current sales and cost amounts by clicking the “Update Labor Prices” button.
