This feature lets you manage Unit Estimates for every version of a Fee Estimate on an Opportunity line. While creating the fee estimate, you can also define and add new estimate types, giving you greater flexibility and accuracy in project cost planning.

  • A new parameter, Enable Unit Estimates, allows users to activate the Unit Estimates tab within the Opportunity Line, as well as display the Unit Fees column in the Fee Estimator.
    • This parameter is dependent on the Enable Fee Estimator setting, and can only be turned on if Enable Fee Estimator is already set to ‘Yes.’

  • A new grid for managing unit estimates is available on the Opportunity Line form, accessible under a newly added tab labeled Unit Estimates.
    • The new grid enables users to create, view, and manage records in the Opportunity Line Unit Estimates table, offering a streamlined interface for handling unit-based estimate data.
    • This grid is editable only when the Opportunity Line is in an Active state. If the Opportunity Line is marked as Closed as Lost, users will not be able to create or modify Unit Estimates.

  • The ‘Estimate Version’ and ‘Task’ fields in Unit Estimates are dynamically filtered based on the Estimate Version selected in the Fee Estimator.
    • If no Estimate Version is manually selected, the system will automatically default to the primary Estimate Version defined in the Fee Estimator.Tasks associated with this default version will then be displayed in the Task field accordingly.

  • If no Estimate Versions are available on the Opportunity Line, users will not be able to create Unit Estimates.

  • The Estimate Version field is read-only and is automatically populated based on the version selected in the Fee Estimator.

Details of the fields available on the unit estimates form in Project Operations tab as follows:

Fields Description
Opportunity Line The associated Opportunity Line related to the Unit Estimates is displayed as a non-editable field
Estimate Version # The Estimate Version from the Fee Estimator is shown in Unit Estimates as a non-editable field and updates automatically when changed
Task Tasks related to the selected Estimate Version from the Fee Estimator are displayed and can be selected
Unit code Unit Codes are displayed based on the combination of Opportunity Company and Currency associated with the Opportunity Line
Description The Description of a Unit Estimate can be entered manually by the user or automatically populated from the Unit Code description
Sales price Based on the selected Unit Code, Opportunity Company, and Currency, if a matching combination exists in the Unit Default Price, the corresponding Sales Price is populated automatically. Otherwise, the field remains blank, and the user can enter the Sales Price manually
Quantity The Quantity field in the Unit Estimate is manually entered by the user
Sales amount The Sales Amount is automatically calculated by multiplying the Sales Price with the Quantity in the Unit Estimates

Unit fees in Fee estimator

  • The Unit Fees column in the Fee Estimator is a read-only field for each task. This value is dynamically calculated based on the selected Estimate Version and represents the aggregated Sales Amount from all related Opportunity Line Unit Estimates records associated with that version.
  • Additionally, the Unit Fees amount is included in the calculation of both Total Fees and Total Fees (Accounting Currency). The updated calculation at each task level is now as follows:
    • Total fees = Labor fees + Expense fees + Unit fees
    • Total fees (Acc CUR) = Total Fees × Exchange rate

Duplicate and Copy from fee estimate process

  • The Duplicate process has been enhanced to also include the copying of Unit Estimates associated with the original Estimate Version, along with the complete Fee Estimator task structure.

  • The Copy from Fee Estimate process has been enhanced to support two distinct modes of operation:
    • Full Copy:
      • This functionality works similarly to the Duplicate process, allowing users to efficiently replicate estimate structures with or without associated Unit Estimates
      • Copies the complete task structure along with all associated Unit Estimates linked to the selected Estimate Version.
    • Advanced Copy:
      • Copies only the Unit Estimates associated with the selected tasks, allowing for more targeted duplication of unit-level data without replicating the entire task structure.
      • The selected Unit Estimates are copied into the new Estimate Version, provided that Unit Estimates already exist for that version.
